Green as Possible. Wastes are valuable.
We use recycled polyester from used plastic bottles. A fabric is made through the process of milling, melting and weaving. Around 50 bottles are used to make a performance jacket. For a boardshort, two dozen.
Durable PFC-free water-repellent treatment
100% of our performance products use PFC free water repellent treatments. PFCs (perfluorocarbons) are chemical substances that have been used widely and for a long time in the outerwear industry to give water resistance to textile products.
During production and even during usage, a piece of clothing will release PFC into the air, harmful particules to human and the environment. Our solution to prevent this is Teflon EcoElite™, which is PFC free and offer a similar durability.
Carbon Footprint
618 000 km car saved for the whole jacket collection. We are able to track our carbon footprint at each processing stage of a product’s lifecycle. From the raw materials to the factory and from transportation to product use and end of life. We can assess and compare our production to a conventional industrial production, then translate our emissions-savings into kilometers travelled by car, for a clear and understandable information.
Additionally, we use Higg Index as a tool to assess the impact of the raw materials on different aspects (carbon emissions, water consumption and water eutrophication) and guide design.
Vegan
Animal welfare is part of our interests in sustainability. Important issues come out of down, feathers, leather and wool sourcing because of the harsh treatments on animals. More and more, we look for alternatives to animal products. Synthetic down, polyurethane leather, bio-based materials. Alternative solutions are available.
